Why choose Labrador Rescue to re-home your dog?
At Labrador Rescue our main aim is to find a loving home for the Labadors that find themselves neading a new forever home - whatever the reason they find themselves with us.
Every care is taken to ensure that when a dog leaves the rescue it is going to a home where it will be cared for and loved for the rest of its life. Even at the point where a potential adopter is about to take a dog away, if there is anything in the interaction of human and Labrador that suggests this will not be a perfect match, the adoption will not go ahead.
Despite our best efforts, there are occasions when an adoption is not working out - after all, a dog is a sensitive creature and no matter how careful, these situations do sometimes happen. Should this happen, we take the dog back and find him/her another home.
We also ask adopters to sign documentation agreeing to return the dog to us if at any point in the future circumstances change and they are unable to keep the dog. This does give us some peace of mind that we can continue to ensure the dogs welfare is looked after by us on a long term basis.
We do not put dogs to sleep so rest assured, even if your Labrador is an oldie - we will find him/her a home - somewhere loving to spend the twilight years.
Big Ben (pictured right), a real character of the rescue came to us extremely overweight at 59kg. He was 12.5 years old and was almost unable to walk. After consulation with our vet, he was given treatment to get him mobile again and found a long term foster home where he enjoyed weekly swimming sessions to keep him mobile and a life where he was loved and cherished, finally passing away to cancer at almost 16 years old. This is the kind of future we like to ensure for every Labrador that crosses our door..
